Adulting: new furniture

Mom came to visit a few weeks ago and very generously purchased for us a glider armchair for when the baby comes. We weren't sure we'd want to put one in our tiny apartment, but we cleared out a spot and decided it would work.

We had a ton of fun deciding on firmness, style, and fabric. Getting a custom chair was only about 15% more than getting a nice one from, say, Pottery Barn Kids, and ours is going to be awesome. The downside is we have to wait about 10 weeks (putting delivery about a week before my due date).

We learned a ton about furniture in general and it's nice to feel empowered to walk into a store and sort of know what to look for now.

Our rug at the top for reference. The chair will have the red and white pattern, with a 4" band around the skirt with 1" teal and the remaining 3" red. Our couch is dark blue so we think this will look like a nice pop.
